Register Failed / Forbidden: Bad Auth on Yealink display:
Description: You are unable to make and receive calls and your phone displays Forbidden: Bad Auth. In the Yealink settings page, it says Register Failed in Accounts.
STEP 1: CHECK INTERNET CONNECTIVITY
- Check if you can browse different websites
- Check if the DSL and PPP / Internet light is solid on your router / modem
ROUTER / MODEM LIGHT STATUS:
- DSL Off = no signal, call your ISP - DSL Flashing = trying to get signal, call your ISP - DSL Solid = has a good signal
NOTE: On your router / modem it may show ADSL or DSL.
- PPP / Internet Off = not authenticated, call your ISP - PPP / Internet Flashing = transmitting data - PPP / Internet Solid = successfully authenticated or registered
NOTE: On your router / modem it may show PPP, Internet or .
STEP 2: Try rebooting your router / modem and phone
- Check if you can hear a dial tone or if you can make outgoing calls
- Check if the phone is still getting the same status
STEP 3: Re-enter username and password in the Yealink settings page
- Press the OK button on your phone to get the IP Address (e.g. 192.168.0.234)


- Type the IP Address on the address bar of your browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari etc.) and press Enter on your keyboard

- Type admin on both username and password in the pop-up dialogue box and click OK

- Click on Account tab
- Re-enter your username and password
- Click Confirm

- Wait for the page to refresh
- Wait for Register Status to display "Registered"
- You should now be able to make and receive calls without the error Forbidden: Bad Auth

NOTE: If the phone is still getting the same status after following the steps above, proceed to next step:
STEP 4: Reset the phone to factory settings and manually reconfigure the phone
